“Canyon Mood" / 24" x 36" / Oil on canvas / $2,450

What I assumed was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit a world-renowned location like the Grand Canyon completely undid me.  How on earth does one pretend to capture the endless shades of color, the boundless light and shadow effects, the unnerving enormity of the place or the feeling of being as insignificant as a floating speck of dust in the cosmological view of things?

That being said, I nevertheless fell in love with the National Park.  I’ve been able to return which has re-inspired me to tackle the huge spaces by narrowing down my selection into more bite-sized pieces as homages to the awe-inspiring views that abound and mercilessly confront the senses!  (Purchase as an antidote for unlimited mental vacations when the stressors of life press in!)
