One For the "Love Bank"

My lovely wife of 47 years l-o-v-e-s flowers! She suffered through almost two months of flu/pneumonia/bronchitis this winter, a rarity for her. She feels she hadn't been seriously sick since '92! While wearily enduring bed rest, her 4 pots of amaryllis bulbs sprouted, grew and bloomed on the floor by the back door, getting much-needed afternoon sunlight there. Ephemeral as these delicate blooms are, she had little time to savor their beauty.
Passing by the back hall one afternoon to take my sweetie some hot cider to quell the latest coughing binge, I glanced over at the flowers and thought "I could paint those and she could enjoy them all year!" I took a few quick snaps with my phone then delivered the non-alcoholic toddy. We listen to a radio program called "Family Life Today" that occasionally mentions the idea of making "deposits" in the marital "love bank." As I painted this floral portrait I was thinking quite earnestly about the message of love I hope it deposits in the babe's heart!
