"Long Shadows"

A painting trip to the South in the early Spring makes the Northerner's heart melt with pure joy—flowers are blooming!  Azaleas burst forth when snow is still deep back home.  After this season's record snowfalls and below zero temperatures, hope is born anew: maybe it won't be winter forever!  The long cast shadows from the still relatively leafless trees drew my attention to this little scenario and this quick-to-come-tegether painting was the result.
