Finally it has dawned on me that I'm preparing a series of Amish country-related works.  I keep going back to the well as new ideas come percolating to the surface.  This incredible early-evening motif was stumbled upon by "The Contre-jour Painters" on our wanderings along dirt back roads.  As we crested a hill, we saw the top of the silo rise in our vision like a submarine periscope.  Pulling over, we grabbed our cameras and ran to see a young boy walk from right to left leading his herd of Guernseys across the road and into the still-sunlit pasture at the left of the painting.  No sooner had we witnessed our Ohio version of the wildebeasts crossing the Serengeti, and the sun had sunk below the hill off to the right and cool darkness settled on the scene.  I guess you had to be there!
