Morning Calm

Painted during the Ohio Plein Air Society's 2013 Annual Competition in Granville, Ohio in September.  My son was getting married that weekend, so I had to paint on Friday and half of Saturday because the rehearsal dinner was on Saturday night and the wedding Sunday morning.  I ended up at Dawe's Arboretum, doing this and another piece.  This was in a lovely, peaceful setting painted from under the overhanging cover of some enormous oak trees.  Both pictures were started on Friday, then finished at the same location on Saturday.
