Every once in a while a painting sort of "paints itself." Years of thinking "artsy" thoughts, hours of study, days of workshops, months of watching instructional videos and weeks of reading magically come together in some cosmic mini-nova and a painting actually works! Not that it's perfect or the cat's meow, but it felt "good" as it happened. That's enough motivation to keep me painting something else. I'm as bad as a golfer!
I attached this to an email to some of my students about classes starting up again. One dear friend , Kay, who also loves to paint flowers said she had to have it. She later confided that she'd never spent that much money in a rash decision. She says when she looks at it, she hears me in her head sharing painting tips and instruction she's heard from me over the years, and loves it. What's not to like about that?
Now I have to wait for the planets to realign or whatever and have the magic happen again!
