Weekend Festival

This last weekend saw me exhibiting at the Olde Worthington Arts Festival "Art On the Green" in central Ohio.  A relatively small (150+ participants) show, it has been a good place to recruit students for my classes and sell the occasional original.  I've made a good friend in Richard Jacobus, a metal artist and sometimes painter from near Atlanta who has been showing here for the last 7 - 8 years, like me.  When opening up the display tent and prepping for Sunday's crowd, Richard walked by and mentioned he'd heard my name that morning and thought he remembered something about 2nd Place.  "What about?" was my response.

A bit later the director of the show, Julie Davis, came by to give me a 2nd Place ribbon and a substantial check!  In all the years of doing the show, I'd not even known awards were given.  So a 1st, 2nd and 3rd are awarded and I finally got one!  What a treat, and a surprise, to go along with sales of 4 paintings over the weekend!
