I’ve begun a series of paintings based on my daughter and son-in-law’s trip to Italy last fall. This all-too-familiar canal scene from Venice was my attempt to capture some of the elegant, Old World beauty of that classic locale. It has become one of the places I look forward to visiting. And painting! Our dear friends the Yapps from England fell in love with this piece, so we worked out a deal. For half price, they got the painting but with the stipulation that at some point in the future they help us plan and go on a joint visit to Italia! Talk about a Win/Win!
PS—We and the Yapps did indeed visit Venice, Florence and the Cinque Terre together in the summer of 2013!
